My Father and I always referred to Linkfield Corner as Reffels Bridge, but I think we are referring to
the same place, just over the railway bridge as you come along Hatchlands Road from Reigate. The last of
the shops on the left was a butchers, owned by a Mr Kemp (a fish and chip shop now, I believe). In those
days it was not uncommon for a butchers shop to have a slaughterhouse behind. In this picture,
Les Easton, holding a pole-axe (used to fell cattle) standing in the yard behind the shop, March 1935.
